Overview
Book Snapper turns a physical book collection into a searchable digital library from photos. Point your phone at a shelf and it identifies every spine, pulls in the cover, author and description for each title, and files them away — no typing, no scanning barcodes one at a time. A wall of books becomes a catalogue you can actually search.
How it works
Photograph a shelf and the app detects the books in the frame. Review what it found — confirm, correct or drop anything it got wrong — and each title lands in your library with its metadata attached. Do one shelf, or work through the whole room.
What it does
- Shelf detection — vision AI reads a photo of a bookshelf and identifies every book in it at once, so cataloguing a shelf takes a photo rather than an afternoon.
- Rich metadata — each book arrives with its cover, author, publisher and description already filled in; nothing to look up.
- A searchable library — browse, search, sort and filter everything you own, and it stays available offline — handy in a bookshop or a friend's spare room.
- Lists — group titles into reading lists, wishlists and favourites.
- Barcode lookup — scan an ISBN to add a single book, or catch anything a shelf photo missed.
- AI librarian — ask what to read next, get recommendations drawn from your own shelves, or just talk a book through.
- Dark mode — easy on the eyes when you're tending the library late.
